HOW IT USUALLY WORKS

Hook: They dangle easy money and flexible hours.

Engagement: If you reply “Yes” or “Interested,” scammers will:

  • Ask for personal info (SSN, date of birth, address).

  • Request upfront fees for things like “training materials,” “software,” or “background checks.”

  • Or attempt to install malware if they send you downloads.

Outcome: Victims lose money, give up personal data, or both.

WHAT TO DO

  1. Do not reply — ignore the “Yes” or “Interested” bait.

  2. Do not click any links or call any numbers from the message.

  3. Block the sender on your phone.

  4. Delete the message after taking a screenshot (if you want to report it).
